Resourcecrash

Resource X failed to start

Also seen as: failed to start resource resource won't start FiveM

What causes it

The resource errored during startup and couldn't initialize. The real reason is almost always another error printed just before this line — a manifest problem, a missing dependency, or a script error in the resource's code.

How to fix it

Read the lines immediately ABOVE this message — they contain the actual cause.

  1. Scroll up in the console to the errors printed just before 'failed to start'. That's the real problem.
  2. If it mentions the manifest: see the fxmanifest error fixes.
  3. If it mentions a dependency: ensure that dependency starts first.
  4. If it's a script error: open the named file and line.
  5. If restarting the resource manually with ensure X makes it work, the issue is load order — fix the order in server.cfg.
